生活在台中這麼久，有機會在舊城區進行綠色游擊，著實是一件令人興奮的事。
Having lived in Taichung for so long, the opportunity to engage in green guerrilla activities in the old town is truly an exciting experience.
台中綠空廊道綠色游擊，在本文簡稱「綠色游擊」，是中區「好伴社計-嘉緣」與「共好生活勞動合作社-莎粒」共同發起的企劃。
The Green Guerrilla initiative along Taichung’s Green Corridor referred to as “Green Guerrilla” in this article, is a project jointly launched by HappenXDesign – Jia Yuan and Co-Living Labor Cooperative – Sally (Who wrote this article) in the Central District.
我們試圖在都市水泥叢林中，透過植物佔領，串起人與人、人與環境的連結，讓荒廢、光禿、閒置的空間，成為有意義感和連結的地方場所，實踐綠色生活的可能。
We aim to reclaim the urban concrete jungle through plant-based interventions, fostering connections between people, as well as between people and the environment. By transforming abandoned, barren, and unused spaces into meaningful and connected places, we strive to realize the possibilities of green living.
2022上半年，我們協同有興趣的夥伴，進行第一次綠色游擊行動。從認識基地與調查開始，漸進式地討論種植的植栽，經過調查檢測，我們發現基地上的土屬於「沙質土」，有機質非常少，不利於水分及營養留存。
In the first half of 2022, we collaborated with interested partners to carry out our first Green Guerrilla action. Starting with understanding and surveying the site, we gradually discussed the plants to be cultivated. Through investigation and testing, we discovered that the soil at the site was classified as “sandy soil,” with very low organic matter, making it unfavorable for retaining moisture and nutrients.
所以莎粒帶大家製作樸門永續設計所學的「等高線截水溝渠」，搜集樹枝打樁、下挖埋入堆肥土及落葉，再回填表土，透過一層一層等高線將水分留下，也創造利於植物生長的環境及微氣候。
To address this, Sally guided everyone in creating contour swales, a technique learned from permaculture design. This involved collecting branches for staking, digging trenches to bury compost soil and fallen leaves, and then backfilling with topsoil. Layer by layer, these contour swales helped retain moisture while also creating an environment and microclimate conducive to plant growth.
我們分層種下紅鳳菜、綠色地瓜葉、紅色地瓜葉、薄荷，並在旁邊種植土人蔘、馬齒莧、艾草等植物，並分工輪班澆水一個月，觀察後續生長狀況……
We planted layers of Malabar spinach, green sweet potato leaves, red sweet potato leaves, and mint, alongside other plants such as Talinum, purslane, and mugwort. We organized a rotating schedule to water the plants for a month, closely monitoring their subsequent growth and development.

The Green Guerrilla initiative chooses to plant on barren land to truly highlight its significance. - 我們希望讓城市充滿食物，解決貧窮、飢餓的問題
We hope to fill the city with food, addressing the issues of poverty and hunger. - 綠空廊道有太多荒廢的土地，我們希望更多人能夠一起發聲
There is too much abandoned land along the Green Corridor, and we hope more people can come together and raise their voices.
根據以上3點，我們盤點綠空周遭路段，發現「基地」最符合需求。我們選擇光禿禿的地方，比較不會「真的」佔用到漂亮的景觀空間，同時還用「可食植物」幫助綠化呢！而我們也了解，基地附近是無家者朋友偶爾休息的地方，我們希望創造公平的食物空間，讓大家都能夠來使用，試圖消彌都市貧窮與不公平的問題。最後台中綠空廊道開幕至今已經好幾年了，還是有很多土地「閒置、浪費」市府卻一點作為也沒有，身為市民的我們，希望可以藉此發聲，為大家爭取更有創意、綠生活的可能性！
Based on the three points above, we surveyed the surrounding areas of the Green Corridor and found that the “site” best met our needs. We chose the barren land because it would not “really” take up any aesthetically valuable space, and at the same time, we could use “edible plants” to help with greening! We also understand that the area near the site is sometimes used by homeless individuals as a place to rest. Our goal is to create an equitable food space, where everyone can use it, and to address urban poverty and inequality. Lastly, the Green Corridor in Taichung has been open for several years, yet there is still a lot of land that remains “idle and wasted” with no action from the city government. As citizens, we hope to raise our voices through this initiative to advocate for more creative and green living possibilities!
慘了…第一次種植，就遇到里長
Oh no… our first planting attempt, and we ran into the village representative!
第一次進行游擊活動的時候，我們就在基地現場被年輕漂亮的里長逮個正著，里長問：「請問你們是哪個單位？」
During our first guerrilla action, we were caught right on-site by a young and beautiful village representative. She asked, “May I ask which organization you belong to?”
機靈的夥伴說：「我們是各個單位！」
Quick-witted, one of our partners replied, “We are from various organizations!”
不過這樣回答不能算錯，我們確實有中區個的單位的夥伴支持，例如：「好伴、共好，還有荒野、主婦聯盟、綠色暢聊、城市治療」隱者地圖等夥伴共襄盛舉。
Although this answer wasn’t technically wrong, as we indeed had partners from various organizations in the Central District supporting us, such as “HappenXDesign,” “Sallysgreenlife,” “The Society of Wilderness,” “Homemakers United Foundation,” “Taichung Green Drink” “Egaruok” and “Hidden Map,” all joining forces for the cause.
跟里長介紹我們的行動後，里長反而意外地支持呢！真是太感謝了！
After introducing our action to the village representative, she unexpectedly showed support! We were truly grateful!
守護基地的無家者大哥Old Man
The homeless man guarding the site-Old Man
環島大哥Old Man因為疫情的關係，停留在台中，卻也恰巧成了基地的守護天使，他比我們任何一個夥伴還要常出沒在基地，比我們更了解所有發生的事情，大哥還常幫我們傳話、分享很多實用的種植技巧。
Due to the pandemic, Old Man, a traveler who was passing through Taiwan, ended up staying in Taichung and became the guardian angel of our site. He frequented the location more than any of us, knew everything that was happening there, and often helped pass on messages and share many practical planting tips with us.
聽說，有一次我們的游擊植物差一點就要被景觀大隊剷平，是Old Man幫我們擋下來的呢！有時候輪班的夥伴太忙了，沒有辦法來幫忙澆水，也是Old Man幫我們澆水的呢！
I heard that once, our guerrilla plants were almost bulldozed by the landscaping team, but it was Old Man who stepped in and stopped them! Sometimes, when our partners on the watering schedule were too busy to help, Old Man would step in and water the plants for us!
你們不怕種的植物被偷摘來吃嗎？
Aren’t you worried that the plants you’ve planted might be stolen and eaten?
有一次我在整理游擊植物的時候，路過的大姐問我：「你們不怕種的植物被偷摘來吃嗎？」我笑了笑，學洛杉磯綠色游擊創辦人Ron Finely說的話：「歡迎大家來採，這就是為什麼它們會被種在路邊。」One time, while I was tending to the guerrilla plants, a lady passing by asked me, “Aren’t you worried that your plants will be stolen and eaten?” I smiled and replied, echoing Ron Finley, the founder of the Green Guerrilla movement in Los Angeles, “You’re welcome to harvest them. That’s exactly why they’re planted on the roadside.”
我們希望可以「都市共享」，取代「冷漠自私」，菜再長就有了，如果有任何需要，歡迎「適度」採摘，實踐樸門永續設計的精神：照顧人、照顧地球、分享多餘。摘菜也不用覺得不好意思，這是屬於大家共同的飲食花園，如果還是覺得不好意思的話，歡迎加入我們綠色游擊的行列，偶爾來幫忙澆澆水、幫忙宣傳美好的理念給更多人知道！
We hope to foster “urban sharing” instead of “indifference and selfishness.” The vegetables will grow, and if anyone is in need, they are welcome to “harvest in moderation.” This embodies the spirit of permaculture design: taking care of people, taking care of the Earth, and sharing the surplus. There’s no need to feel guilty about picking the vegetables; this is a community garden for everyone. If you still feel uneasy, you’re welcome to join our Green Guerrilla efforts—come help water the plants or spread the wonderful ideas to more people!
為什麼不「認養」，要用「游擊」的呢？
Why choose “guerrilla” instead of “adoption”?
進行綠色游擊行動最怕的不是辛苦，而是「合法性」的問題。也有不少人勸我們為什麼不乾脆去「認養」就好了？而是採用游擊的方式呢？
The biggest concern with carrying out green guerrilla actions isn’t the hard work, but rather the issue of “legality.” Many people have advised us to simply “adopt” the space instead. So why choose the guerrilla approach?
其實，我們也做過不少討論，因為想要藉由游擊「活動」引起更多人關注以及討論，讓在乎的在地居民朋友都可以共同創造土地的未來性，如果只採用認養形式，這對於一般人而言，不就是從原本維護團隊改為另一個維護團隊而已，會沒有感覺。
In fact, we’ve had quite a few discussions about this. We wanted to use guerrilla “actions” to spark more attention and conversations, allowing local residents who care about the area to collectively shape the future of the land. If we only adopted the space, wouldn’t it just be a switch from one maintenance team to another, without creating a real sense of involvement or change for the general public?
但是如果透過「游擊」活動，大家動手參與，讓議題發酵，希望找到志同道合的在地夥伴（如果是長春里的居民更好）加入我們的行列，大家一起來共同規劃都市可食空間的願景，共創美好的綠色生活。
However, by engaging in “guerrilla” actions, we encourage everyone to get involved, allowing the issue to gain momentum. We hope to find like-minded local partners (especially from Changchun Village) to join us, so we can collectively plan the vision for urban edible spaces and co-create a beautiful green lifestyle together.
2022年下半年，還有什麼綠色游擊的計畫呢？
What other Green Guerrilla plans are there for the second half of 2022?
上半年的綠色游擊植物，在八月的某一天被剷平了…，從此以後，就沒有人在附近見過Old Man，不知道他現在過得好不好。
The Green Guerrilla plants from the first half of the year were bulldozed one day in August… After that, no one has seen Old Man around the area. We don’t know how he’s doing now.
1)綠空野菜走讀行動The Green Corridor Wild Vegetable Walk
2022/08/27 我們一起在綠空廊道上方進行「野菜走讀活動」，透過「賓狗遊戲」結合手機軟體認識都市裡可食野菜。大家都一致認同，都市裡真的很難得這樣親近日常野花野草，如今認識了，未來若遇到荒年，大夥兒的這番工夫就用得上了！
On August 27, 2022, we held a “Wild Vegetable Walk” along the Green Corridor. Using the “Bingo Game” combined with a mobile app, participants learned about edible wild plants in the city. Everyone agreed that it’s rare to have such close encounters with everyday wildflowers and weeds in the urban environment. Now that we know them, if we ever face a year of scarcity, the knowledge we gained will surely come in handy!
2)太陽花-綠色游擊行動Sunflower Green Guerrilla Action
下半年，疫情也比較趨緩了一點（至少莎粒已經陽過了），所以我們要捲土重來。2022/09/24 綠色游擊行動，我們要種植綠肥植物：向日葵（太陽花），呼應世界的「太陽花綠色游擊行動」，希望可以創造更多議題的重視，也讓綠空呈現不一樣的生態空間。
In the second half of the year, with the pandemic easing a bit, we were ready to come back stronger. On September 24, 2022, our Green Guerrilla action focused on planting green manure plants: sunflowers. This was in response to the global “Sunflower Green Guerrilla Action.” We hoped to raise more awareness on various issues and create a different ecological space in the Green Corridor.
